To celebrate its best-selling complexion heroes, Light Reflecting Foundation and Natural Radiant Longwear, NARS unveiled a chess-inspired mailer that invites recipients to “choose their side.” This gamified concept transforms the complexion category into a strategic, high-impact battle of flawless finishes, showcasing the distinct benefits of each formula while delivering a luxury unboxing experience.

The design focused on elevating product discovery through tactility, premium materials, and a minimalist aesthetic grounded in the brand’s signature style.

DESIGN DETAIL SPOTLIGHT

Built with a mix of acrylic, resin, embossed papers, and leather accents, the mailer evokes a luxury game board, mirroring foundation shades against a classic black and white palette. Layered materials and interactive touchpoints brought the chess theme to life, making each unit feel like a collectible art piece while highlighting the inclusivity and texture of NARS products.
